Maybe I missed such an option in the game. I didn't experience the full scale of possibilities yet, but at least a nice amount of them and I like what Larian Studios did!

Are there any thoughts on adding a resting option?

Food and drinks can already regenerate some health, but being able to rest (if no enemies are around) without the needs to waste potions, drinks or food to regenerate up to a limited percentage of the overall health could be a neat thing. This could be (for example) either on blank floor and/or on a seating possibility (e.g. a bench or seat, making it slightly faster due to comfort? That way benches would have more purpose than just a nice cosmetic feature).

So, what I mean is: resting only restores health up to a limited percentage of the overall health (e.g. stops at 33-50% of overall health?), it takes longer than by using a healing spell or potion (2-3 minutes?), speed could be positively influenced by what you are sitting on (sand = comfortable, rocks = not) but doesn't have to, would just be the cherry on the cake, and you can't use it when enemies are in a certain range. Resting is only possible when some time passed after a fight, not immediately after.
Of course it should be abortable.

It's not always useful to teleport back to town and one might not always have enough money for potions or food, nor is it said that one of the two (or more) characters can master healing spells, so I think this might be a good niche-thing to at least allow some regeneration without any tools or skills.

It's just a silly idea with some hypothetical values but I think it might add to the fun of the game.
Let me know what you think about that! wink

You can click on a bed or mat to rest / heal. Benches and chairs worked to rest for a couple builds, but were too exploitable, even without being able to carry one around in your inventory.

The loss of the schedules made a rest feature less important.

Benches and chairs used to restore health, but that was removed, it was probably considered a little too free and easy to heal. For that reason, I suspect a free heal from resting isn't in the cards either.

Even if you don't have access to healing magic, which is free out of combat (and the Companion Jahan starts with it), there are beds around for this. There's a house near the burial mounds with two beds, and that's relatively easy to access, you just need to be level 3. Your homestead can also work for this purpose as well.

You should always spare a point for the Minor heal spell.

Consider where you are investing your points at character creation, then considering moving the point from the weapon tree into hydro so you can get free healing!

Obviously, this might destroy how you view your characters... but I'd honestly rethink the character backgrounds rather than refuse such an excellent way to heal in between combats.

Why would you need a resting option ? There is nothing to rest. There is only healing. There is no "fatigue", "exhaustion", "mana", whatever you can call it, only HP. So no resting.
Or call it "free healing" hehe

It's a bug, obviously not intentional.
