the boy at the dwarven braed inn won't die i can exit the game and load but the cutsene won't proceed

Try running the configuration program and switching to software mode, and maybe lower the resolution, until you are past there; this can help with some cut scene problems.
Do you have a save before you and Zandalor head off to meet the other marked one, that you could try re-loading?
