Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks dishes won't come clean

Stormfist....Cook...dirty dishes......put water in big bowl, put dishes in big bowl, they sort of sparkle and appear on side of big bowl, but they are still dirty....tried water from both pails, tried the sink, no difference.... kept putting them in bowl over and over and got less dishes each time. always remained dirty....any ideas.....thanks....

This may not help a lot - but I remember having problems with the same thing. When I read the directions again and found the correct bucket/tub of water it worked and it was like 'duh'. Try reading it again, I think it is under the table though.

Yes, must drag and drop pans & plates into inventory - that was the key! Then talk to cook! I had to go do it again to remember. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Try cleaning the whole pile then put them in the inventory and talk to the cook.

This is probably one of the hardest quests in the game, believe it or not <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I know I never got the hang of it...

Took me a while to figure this one out as well.

If the pile is getting smaller, you are doing it correctly. Just look around the floor right by the tub for the clean dishes as you wash them. Then as a poster above said, put them in your inventory and talk to the cook.

Alright, here it is, I've gone through this with two characters and had hard times with both <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> First, put them all inside the bowl until there is no pile called dirty dishes. Next, pick up everything, pots and pans will get into your inventory with clicking, but you'll have to drag the dishes into it. When you have them in your inventory, talk to the cook again, and it's over.

I re-loaded here three times before i read the directions correctly. When you get a dish clean you will see a sparkle from it.

Thats funny.. I did exactly that, but when I talked to the cook again, I could either tell him wanted a break or ask him for the directions again. Nothing about being finished, though...

Then you probably haven't picked up all the dishes, or there are some dishes still unwashed, press alt again and check, sometimes objects don't show, move around a bit and try again.

In my days, we had to do all of our dishes by hand! Nooo fancy machines doing the work for us! Where has the world come to... Washing dishes, one of the hardest quests in the game *mumble mumble*...
