Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Murder Mystery bug or intended??

I decided to play through the beta again yesterday just to see the changes that have been made since i last played.

I had already completed the murder mystery in a previous game so i knew where all 3 of the items were to send ****** to jail so all i did was find the sheeps corpse, talk to the mortition and then pick all all 3 items.

My problem is:

My quest log now says get a confession out of her but when i go to her she is hostile and i cant talk to her. Is this intended or a bug??

Because i cannot speak with her i cant progress on the quest...

Could be a bug. Do you have Know it All or Stench talents? Done any stealing or murder, even if you didn't get caught?

Have you tried approaching with your main characters individually, to see if she will talk to either alone?

Try charming her and see if that helps when it wears off.

Try turning a character invisible and approaching. A few people last build had a problem with her bodyguard; one was able to get past him and talk to Esmeralda, as long as the body guard didn't see.
