Larian has not announced any other localizations than the ones confirmed for release.
The editor will be released this week. I don't know if it includes any functionality to help with importing or exporting text to translate, or if that would be something that will come later. The initial sales of the game after release may convince other distributors or publishers to do official localizations, or determine how feasible it would be for Larian to contract that out directly.

I also want to start with Hungarian localization and already checked a bit. There is a folder named 'Localization' in the game folder, now there is only English. There is a file which contains all the texts I suppose, but it's not very good readable by default. There must be a tool which can get out the texts in better format and after translation put it back, but I didn't checked yet, I want to wait till the full release is out.

That tool will likely be part of the toolkit, at least I'd expect so as modders might want to provide translations for their mods...
* as usual this is imho (unless stated otherwise); feel free to disagree, ignore or try to change my mind. Agreeing with me is ofc also allowed, but makes for much worse flamewarsarguments.
It is a full moon night and ... bèèè! ... the Weresheep are out...

@theBlackDragon: I really hope you are right. I checked again, so now there is a file named english.xml, I was able to edit is, the best way was Notepad++. There may be another better editor, I just hope they won't change the way of storing texts. Special letters are another open question, I'll test it in the final game next week. Someone knows if Larian will overwrite this file in later patches or only edit it if needed? I never made a localization fully alone, so I'm really really excited if this will work out. However I have no idea how long this will take. ;-)

Russian language will be in the game. Will it be delayed, I do not know, but if it is, probably not by much.

Hi Larian, I just started to translate the game and have 2 questions:
- how is it possible to get special characters displayed? (in my case they are , , , ő and ű, the last two are surely not working now) - if you update the game, are you going to edit the english.xml file, or replace it?

Here are the few first lines of the french xml, it may help :
<content contentuid="h0001d8b9g13d6g4605g85e9g708fe1e537c8">Personnalis馥</content> <content contentuid="h000824a4gf6cfg4e7cgad12g3cf2b4473efe">Votre offre actuelle sera r駟nitialis馥 si vous changez de personnage</content> <content contentuid="h000851ffgff1bg4c30g8408g478add6e8900">J'ai 騁 enlev par le vicieux et sauvage roi de l'hiver Bor饌s le maudit! - et jet dans sa prison. C'騁ait un souhait qu'il avait formul et un souhait que j'ai d accord?..</content>
You may want to check the "language.lsx" which is also an xml, see if you find a way to create your own folder so it doesnt get erased everytime there is an update, but im not sure how the lang get selected with the Steam properties.
PS: i cant get the forum to show the xml like it should some strange symbols appear, i could send the file instead if you want

Will the localizations get updates if some mistakes are present ? Because in the case of the French translation, sometimes it's good, and sometimes not that much. For example, when you meet the Weaver of Time, the dialogues are quite weird. At first I thought that it was meant to be a mysterious/elusive speech (and maybe it is), but even my characters had some approximative lines. maybe a different person worked on this part, but i's quite obvious that he translated the dialogues too literally. Also, some things are not translated, like the names of NPC : X the fish vendor will still be X the fish vendor. Or sometimes, a character will alternate different forms of "you" (we have "tu" and "vous" in French) when he should keeps to one or the other. It's a lot of small details, but added up it may make the dialogues not so pleasant to read. I personally switched back to English. Anyway I'm glad that Larian made the effort to localize the game in several language at a time where most of the developpers release their game only in English

I think they already updated the English version, and overwrited the file, 'cause my test line is Englisch again. ^^
