Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Changes to Multiplayer?

Okay so this game greatly excites me because of the custom campaign editor, the fact that the game itself is very similar to oldschool topdown RPGs, and the opportunity of modding through the steam workshop. this game is absolutely fantastic in every aspect except multiplayer.

The thought of making an essentially custom campaign and playing through it with 4 friends greatly entices me. The game already supports a party of 4, so my question is this:

Will there be changes to the multiplayer so that you can create 4 custom characters at the start of the campaign? Or will a system be implemented so that you can take a character to other games?

I have been waiting for a game like this for a long time.. and will be really sad if i can't fully enjoy it by playing with my friends at my own leisure. I understand that it's more of a singleplayer game..that just happens to have coop, but the potential for an absolutely fantastic multiplayer experience is definitely here. just not implemented.

i really hope Larian takes steps in the future to put the multiplayer to its full potential because they have created an absolutely astounding game that is going to pull in a lot of players.. and it would be a shame to see the game not live up to its full potential.

On today's livestream, it was asked about 4-player co-op. The guys from Larian said (and I'm paraphrasing here):

It won't be balanced, and they won't have the full dialogues the two source hunters get, but they did test a 4-player mod, and maybe if they expand it more and polish it up, they could release it on the workshop.

that's great news to hear. not having the dialogue options for 4 people isn't really that big of a deal. my concern was more for the custom campaign editor. being able to play custom stuff with 4 people would feel so much like playing D&D it would be absurd and awesome.
