Am I missing something or isn't it always better to be Independent (Willpower bonus all the time) rather than Obedient (conditional Willpower bonus)?

Unless maybe the Willpower bonus from Obedient can be greater than +1...?

Well I can now answer this question with "No...if you have a character with Leadership 4 or above."

At level 4, you gain +10% armor bonus for being Obedient.
Level 5 Leadership mouseover shows + Willpower, so I'm guessing you can get +2 WILL out of Obedient...if you have someone spending a lot of points on Leadership.
