First of all, i must say that due to a lack of time, I havent played through the lastest build.

During all my playthroughs, one of the major things that annoyed me, was the time it would take to heal the team back up to full health, be it after combat, after a trapped zone, or after messing around...
Each time you have to select a NPC, use the heal, wait for the animation, switch, wait until the cooldown comes back, etc etc etc. VERY timewasting and unfunny.

So why not add a script that would allow you to toogle an "auto use " of a healing spell (if any is known), that the compagnon AI would cast on any party member lacking health?
During the fights it wouldnt be enabled since you have a direct control, but outside those fights, it might save some time and take away a bit of frustration.

So many ways to go with it, what they decided on imo works, it's a slower pace solution, but perhaps that is their vision. One could argue to just have all health go back to 100% after battle. But having scripts as you say "a bioware strength)" just isn't in the game at all, so that is a whole new facility that would have had been developed.
