If everyone is getting an extra steam key because the dice are missing from the CE, what do those of us who never wanted Steam in the first place get?

I don't think you can get something else. You can gift your key if you don't want it.

Wait, where did you hear about us with the CE getting a free Steam key?

It's hardly a gift.. it's a substition of an item that would have been desireable with an item that is obviously useless and undesired by a section of their customers.. which should have been obvious.

So is it just going to be the case of if you wanted what the kickstarter says you would get.. (i.e aDRM-FREE disc) then you get shafted on everything else?

I heard you can insert steam Witcher keys on GOG so maybe you can instert divinity steam keys into gog

I doubt that. I haven't heard of gog doing that for any game except the witcher/witcher 2. Do not forget they publish the witcher themselves, so they likely have only insight in steam keys for those 2 games.

In an ideal world 'maybe', but no, you can't do that.

I wouldn't care to inflict Steam's DRM, privacy and security issues on anyone else. Having the option to gift a GOG key instead would be far better - but given how much Larian have on their plate at the moment (including the current non-presence of a GOG version...) I can understand that being delayed.
