Good day divinity people!

I am a former NWN server admin who just heard about this game, and it looks like I'm unfortunately going to miss your steam sale, because I have some questions before I potentially buy.

Neverwinter nights was famous for people taking its "build an adventure" toolset and utilizing the locally saved data files, DM client, and server hosting tech to create persistant, storytelling worlds with live DMs for open-ended, session-based or even 24/7 hosted fun.

I am wondering if your toolset will allow the same opportunities, basically my requirements would be:

-Local, easy to use game hosting that can accomodate let's say up to 10 players.

-The ability to play among friends as a godlike dungeon master that can spawn monsters, possess NPCs, play invisibly, and just generally tell stories with the powers needed to do so.

-Persistant player character save files on the hosting machine, bonus points if there's a way for a DM to edit them for things like player name changes.

I don't require the ability to host the world 24/7, but the ability to run session-based games with the powers listed above (and I'll list more if I think of them) would fill the void that's been left gaping in my gaming for years.

Thank you for your time!

It's possible. 8 players are possible at least.

Everything you mention is possible but will require some really heavy scripting work. There is no build-in DM tools but you can create them with some advanced scripting.

All information is stored on host PC. Savefiles are kinda editable.

Ah, I see, well, I'm glad I asked first, thanks for the prompt reply. I'll keep an eye out for easily implemented community mods that enable this, but it's rather important as a default, intuitive feature, for what I plan. smile

Thanks again! smile

I'd like to up that thread. Any news by Devs. (Probably still in well deserved holidays)

Anybody who roughly looked at the scripting mechanics has alreadyany vague ideas how to implement a DM client?

@Phenomen: What is your source of your provided Information? A dev statement? Just curious!
