Any suggestions on how to proceed? When I do a quicksave or try to overwrite a named save I see an error message.

" Savegame failed (copy to levelcache failed). Please report this. ErrorCode:1 "

However, if I quit game and come back, I can load the saves that supposedly failed.

Creating a new named save works as expected.


Edited to add: I have loaded the update from today and should be playing the live game, and the new game I started (on my iMac) is single player.

Try validating your steam game cache for D:OS. There might be a corrupted file somewhere. I can't seem to replicate the problem that you're having so I don't know.

Validation showed 2 files failed to validate, message read they will be reacquired. Do I have to initiate anything to do that?

Apparently the reacquisition of files happens by itself. I've run the validation several times, and a couple times I noticed a small download happening. I finally got it to show 0 files that failed to validate, but I still get the error message noted above on quicksaves, on saving over previous named saves, and even occasionally on autosaves.

As before, the saved files seem to actually be there and be okay, because I can load them... just that the error message is disturbing to see every time, and has to be cleared by checking OK in order to continue.

Do you have the save game folder open when that happens ?

No... I did find where it is, though. And it looks like new saves are being written even though the game tells me they failed.

Edited to add: I changed permissions on savegame folder so everyone could read/write to it, but no change... error msg on quicksave still occurs.

I and another Mac user are having the same issue. Only occurs when the saves are being overwritten. I've turned the # of quicksaves up to 25 so I don't have to trash as often, but the problem is still there.

I crash when saving a lot. Usually during the 'waiting to sync' stage.

I'm on PC (Windows 7, windowed mode), I've downloaded the release patches and Verified files.

I crash almost every time I quick save, sometimes when I manually save, sometimes when I autosave and sometimes when I load. Also, when I manually save, my minimap + map go black (with the exception of the yellow and green dots and so on). Loading and saving times are frustratingly long in the first place.

Edit: I can load the save after crashing, most of the time. One exception was when autosaving due to changing zones. The last time I crashed was when using the waypoint teleport for the first time.

Indeed, that's a stupid issue. Everything works, don't worry about save consistency. Will fix in the next update

Can you clarify if that means that the save worked despite the error message?

I'm having the same issue. Won't let me save at all. I've tried numerous times?

The thing does save. And save correctly. It's just message box receives wrong code and complains. It happens only when you overwrite the game. I promise to release hot fix to this tomorrow ASAP.
