I haate to admit.. but there is one thing I hate about Divinity..it's this toolkit. Extremely confusing on start up and keeps giving me tons of errors saying it cannot read certain date. I cannot even Edit Jahan...errors out trying to open his data.

is there any simple documention anywhere? (I have googled. found nothing) on how to just change the names of a few talents and make a ring with a few skill boosts on it that the player starts with.

(making a crafting ring, as I think its silly wasting points to put it into crafting. that to me should be an automatic skill for all)

I know you are excited, but they warned us that a lot of documentation was needed for the toolkit. Modding is not for the faint-hearted and impatient while the toolset is in beta. They gave us some very basic information on getting started. Did you watch the twitch streams or look at the tutorials on steam?

They'll only get you so far, but have you started with these?

there are no tutorials on steam O.o I looked. I have googled. Now I understand it is beta... but why is it so hard to make it user friendly? See I have been Pro Larian for along time.. I was ok that they gave some talents completely stupid names "Glass Cannon" Hate that so much.. reminds me of l33t speek in pvp games. I understand the toolset is a powerful tool.. but why are a few minor changes such a pain..

since this is beta and it apparently refuses to read any of the files. Any idea when it will be ready? might be release date for everyone else..seems I have to keep on waiting.

Do we even know if changes to the main campaign module will be incompatible (or overwritten) with future updates? It seems like they would.

Well, that is one of the reasons why they did not want to release the toolkit while D:OS was still in beta - there is no proper documentation for the toolkit yet and they could not offer proper support so far. I am sure it will be coming soon, just some patience is needed! We have waited for over a year, now we can surely wait a little more for the proper documentation.

Keep in mind they made the entire game with that thing. So, it may take some work to figure out without help, but in the end the potential is there.

oh I know it's powerful. but user friend. is a 0.... the one thing I was excited about for Divinity is now the worst part of it to me.. and the main story is not something I wish to play without a few changes.

To be fair, I don't recall Larian ever promising it would be user friendly. As someone who's never taken to modding before, I'm just throwing that out there. I'm currently considering testing the waters myself, but I do so with the understanding I'm wading in pretty deep.

I think it's merely a matter of learning a new user interface and then their scripting language.

Did you try opening the cow simulator first and playing with that?
