I've done about every quest, and am ready to be gonged. I've sold all my excess stuff except for 4-5 items that are worth too much to find anyone to sell to (armor mainly...mithril, Dragon, etc). Can I trade them for gold charms in the wastelands?

I read a post about a chest to put stuff in for the wastelands. Is that necessary? So far I've just carried my gold around. Is this still OK?

I plan on buying all the gold charms I can, but don't know how much they cost there. I have space for about 8 charms, but want mainly to increase strength, agility, constitution, vitality. I don't know if any specific resistance is worth it in the wastelands. Most resistances are 60+ except spirit is 35.

Is there a resistance I really should raise to the max (whatever the max is)?

Are charms readily available there for a price...and who sells them?

BTW- I killed everything at the end of the game so far pretty easily without using any health potions during the fights, so I have about 90 super healths, and a fair number of magics for restoration. So unless I hear otherwise, I plan on fighting my way through the wastelands (I'm more the Diablo type than the Baldar's Gate type...I like to hack and slash)...any words of wisdom? I figure I should get some gold charms that way.

Sorry, that's a lot of questions.

Thanks, this has been a fun game so far.

Yes, you can trade for gold charms.

I put my gold into a cupboard there and had a pyramid next to it, so I could put in my loot, if the trader had nothing of interest (charms and spell books in my case) to avoid encumbrance.

I had my resistances over 100.

Only one trader there, near your rest room: Kroxy.

You'll meet demons, imps and dragon riders. I used hellspikes for the imps or Instant Death (doesn't work on Shamans and mages) - Deadly Discs for the demons and Hail against the dragon riders, they're pretty fast and strong.

You can trade with another orc near where you enter the wastelands, but his prices are higher than Kroxy's (IIRC about 90k for a gold charm vs 50k from Kroxy). You can carry your gold around if you want, but you will only need it at one place.

Restoration potions are much better than health/mana potions. If you completed the alchemist's quest in the Dark Forest, you should have a level of Alchemy to mix potions.

If you have any spare skill points and have not already done so, you may want to put some in Magic Barrier (only +25% resistances when maxed, but would help without taking up a charm slot).

If you like hack-and-slash, you'll like the wastelands.

I just finished the game last night. And as a side note I am proud to say that I never once used a frost weapon or scorpion.

If you have all your resistances over 100, the only thing you have to worry about are Imp Cheiftans and Sand Devils. Those bastards killed me in one hit when I had full health at 627 points!!!! I was playing on hard level.

Raze is correct, use restoration potions. Also, the wasteland is nothing more than hack-and-slash. The only quest (that I found) is to find ____ that will teach you a point in _____. I blanked them out just in case you don't like spoilers. The quest is not nessicary to finish the game though.

After about an hour of nothing more than killing things and buying charms, I just skipped the wastelands and went forward to the last zone. After you hit the gong, the game gets a little boring.

The spell is Blind; it should have worn off after awhile by itself.
