Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Cant start new game??

I made a profile as it asked me when loading the game.
I clicked new game and then single and multiplayer and both greyed-out and nither can be selected.

Anyone know why??

I have now reinstalled the game and still the single and multiplayer options are unselectable

Anyone know how to fix this please???

I am having the same problem. try joining a game. does it tell you module not found?
If so did you mess around in the editor? cause i did and i suspect it altered or deleted the module.

so i fixed it by uninstalling the game and the editor then going to the folder and completely deleting everything.

If you exit back to the main menu, can you try creating a different profile and seeing if you can start a game?

Did you try verifying local files?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?

Try browsing to the '..\Documents\Larian Studios' folder and renaming the 'Divinity Original Sin' subfolder.
This folder contains the saved games, configuration files and a level cache folder. Deleting or renaming it will get the game to recreate it on startup; playing the game from a different Windows user account would effectively do the same thing.

I fixed it by uninstalling the toolkit and the game, removing all D:OS files and reinstalling the game.

Before i did this i had tried verifying local file, creating a second profile and running the .exe files as admin etc and none of that worked.

I cant have the toolkit and the game installed if i want to play the game..... its quite annoying tbh

When i installed the toolkit, i followed the instructions on how to set it up from the steam post. I didnt ever load the main campaign, edit it or change anything to do with it at all. I made a new module and that was it. I did nothing more as i wanted to play the game first after making sure the toolkit loaded etc.

Any idea how i can fix this??

Did you try re-installing the toolkit again? If so, did you have a problem creating a new profile or starting a new game?
