I can't find a guide for how to start a game in multiplayer or easily figure it out. I'm right next to the person I want to play with but I don't seen to show up on her lanlist when I start a game in multiplayer and she goes to join.

I think I'm missing something obvious so I browsed around for a guide on how to start multiplayer but the game is so new I can't find much.

Are you both playing using Steam?

Instructions for Steam:

You should be friends on Steam. The first person starts the game and selects Multyplayer -> the game goes into the character creation screen. The second person starts the game and selects "Join" in the menu. Then clicks onto the "Show friends" (or something like this) in the right corner of the lobby list. Now, your friend should see your game and be able to join you.

I have not tried LAN myself, but I think this is how it would go: One person starts the game as before and goes into the character creation screen. The other starts the game and clicks "Join". Now, there is a tab in the lobby list named "LAN". I assume that clicking on this tab would allow your friend to join your game.

In the Game section of the options you can set the Game Visibility for online, LAN and direct connections.
