Ok, so I might be forgetting something but last I played the beta, if you distracted Curtius by getting the other guards to argue and then cast unlock on the storehouse door, you could get in fairly easily?
Seems like whenever I try it now, even if I cast the spell from behind some cover, he or one of the other guards always seems to notice.
Has anyone else managed to get in without getting into a fight? :-S

Yes, I did it last night. I waited for the one guard (shield on his back I think) to get as far from the door as possible. I then instigate the fight b/w the two guards, and the sergeant runs to them. I think the open door spell has a 15m max range, so I get way in the left corner of that room and cast the spell.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong then, every time I cast the spell I get caught and I'm doing it the exact same way. I guess I'll have to keep experimenting.

Bah! Just teleport the guards into cells and kill them off at you leisure.

Sorry, I'm referring to the one by the docks as opposed to the one in the jail, no cells to teleport anything Besides that, I want to be completely stealthy.

Try for the door, this will trigger dialog with sergeant. Ask him what is behind and what is he doing and this will lead to dice roll and if you win he'll let you in

My main is a Rogue and I am level 3 but I am indecisive about where to go with sill points (other than the obvious). I want to explore dialogue and other non-combat options so is there any feedback you can give on Charisma being worthwhile in this regard? Maybe a point or two? Thanks!

Funny, I always set myself between the sergeant and the door and making sure to be in stealth and not seen by anyone, cast unlock on the door and went in.
Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

But when I tried this in release casting the scroll popped sneak and/or walk in shadows, thus getting me caught. I then found the alternate ay in the spoiler above.

This is how you do it... Before you do anything you should go to the far left area and get as close to the right side wall in the little alcove as you can... then prepare to cast your unlock spell find the spot that is max distance from the door but can still cast the spell (15 meters). Remember that spot or if you have it already, you can place a pyramid there. Then go instigate the guards to fight but time it so that the guard with the shield is as far right as he goes (right if you are facing the door). The goal here is to get the guy guarding the door to go break up the fight but he has to be far enough away from the left side corner so that you are no longer in his sight zone. Basically... If your sneak skill is low and you can sneak in that corner when he goes to break up the fight, then you should be able to cast the unlock spell without being noticed. As long as you are not in their line of sight you can technically do anything. Just make sure to stay out of their line of sight and you will be fine.
