Is there a way to accelerate combat?
Watching 10 enemy units do stuff in slow motion is kind of frustratting.

I hated this particularly, because I had to lure mobs to the Cyseal city gates to have a chance in the first fights, which meant sooo many turns just running and waiting on the mobs to run. Because if you don't have the meta-knowledge on how to skill your chars, you're pretty much fucked otherwise. But apparently there is no way to speed it up -.-

Your doing an exploit to the game, of course it's going to take longer. You're lucky the game even allows you to do that and your complaining about how long it takes? If you play the way it's designed or in a more realistic manner, you don't have to wait so long.
What level guys were you luring back to the city? At level 4 you should be able to take on an even level mob of 5 or 6 relatively easy. This is a turn-based RPG game. For people who totally LOVE Turn Based games. Thus the references you see in every review about Oldschool, etc etc. It's for people who like to strategize and plan out their moves tediously. You know? Like Chess? It's not Diablo. It's not an Action RPG. That is whole other demographic of gamers.

Even in oldschool games, back in the days, you could speed up enemy movement, or let combat be calculated to not do the 49827498243. iteration of the same trash mob fight you win with easy.
I was not "exploting" the game in any way, enemy movement takes too long, i *literally* went to the toilet, came back and the enemies were still moving. Its mind-numbing, even for oldschool turnbased rpgs.
And don#t get me wrong, i like the game, i simply wished for an option to speed up enemy movement, so no need to get all butt hurt about it again.

Try not to be so condescending because people are voicing their opinions and you disagree.

I've noticed that even if their animations were sped up it probably wouldn't make that big of a difference because the AI often takes time to calculate exactly what it should do.

And then I usually laugh because after sitting there doing nothing for 4 seconds it often does something incredibly stupid.

Also as the original X-com is one of my favorite games and I've played it far too much I can attest to the movement settings in the game. You could even set it so high that all movement and shots happened basically instantly.
