Hello,
I wasn't quite sure where I should post something like this so I thought I would try it here first.
Without getting into too much detail I'm a quadriplegic with limited arm movement that sometimes has trouble with complicated interfaces. I have a lot of workarounds but I've run into two problems with Divinity that are making the game a lot harder for me to play. Below are the two things I speak of with possible minor tweaks that can easily fix these problems for me and many other disabled players who might be playing this game.
1. So you have to right-click to bash objects. The special head operated mouse I use doesn't allow me to perform right-clicks so I get around it by using something like Dragon Dictate to verbally perform a right-click or my on-screen keyboard to do a command-click or control-click (or whatever the keyboard shortcut is for this). With this game for some reason none of the alternative methods I use to right-click work so I'm forced to use the physical keyboard for this which is difficult for me.
Possible solutions.
-A "bash" button somewhere on the favorites bar at the bottom of the screen much like the "sneak" button.
- A contextual menu that pops up when clicking on items in the game like doors and chests with bash being one of the options.
Both of these things could be toggled in the options menu for those that want them.
2. To rotate the camera around I believe you have to press the middle mouse button and move the mouse around. If you don't have a middle mouse button, which I don't, you have to press and hold the "V" key or a key of your choice and move the mouse around simultaneously. This is impossible for me. I also can't select one of the modifier keys (on the Mac those it's Option and Command because Control is already being used for something) for this purpose which would make it possible because those keys stay "stuck" until pressed again.
Possible solutions.
-Allow the modifier keys to be used for this.
-In the keyboard customization screen add customizable keyboard equivalents for rotating the camera in both directions.
I'm a Kickstarter backer but didn't play the beta hardly at all because I didn't want to ruin the game for myself before it was released or else I may have noticed this earlier.
In any event I would really appreciate it if something could be done here, assuming it wouldn't be a lot of work. I know you guys are busy but I see so much potential in this game, more so than I ever envisioned, that I would love to enjoy it to it's fullest extent.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
-Paul
