Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues Characters and other objects not visible

There was a thread on this in another section but it disappeared.

Basically the problem is I'm using a Mac and some things are just plain invisible. The characters are not visible, only their weapons. Enemies, barrels, and switches also do not appear. I tried reinstalling the game via steam and that did not fix the problem. Is this a known bug or is there something else amiss?

*bump* same issue here, also on Mac (MBP 2012 with intel hd 4000 graphics and retina display).
the game works smoothly besides that.

There is nothing that I can say from top of my head on this, we do have HD4000 around and I've never ever seen this issue.
Thus I believe I might request some help from your side. This will be about 30-40 minutes of remote access session where I will install a debug tool on your machine and analyse its output. Keep me posted in this topic. Of course your privacy is our top priority, so if you can't organise remote access we will have to think about other approaches.

P.S. What about menu screen and character selection screen?
Any differences with everything set to Low?
Windowed mode - 800x600?

sure, we can do a remote desktop session. please let me know what software I should install.

I don't see character models in menu/character creation scenes either, and there's no change after switching to 800x600 and turning off everything in video settings.

I did some googling before and it seems that people had problems with intel hd graphics in other games, https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/264 may be helpful

Last one - can you try setting your game language to either German or French.

Yeah, everything mac related typically ends with me but I haven't got your into. Can you please give me your os and hardware info.

Same questions as above. What's with main menu, char selection? Have you tried selecting other language?

Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB

Main menu seems normal. At character select screen characters are invisible sans weapons and their hair. The language option is something I have not been able to find so I cant change it (its not in the options menu for me).

It's in properties of a game in steam library. Also verify game cache there please
I know I am asking a lot but just to significantly improve our understanding of issue is it possible to test 10.9 system? You can install it on a separate drive and it's free

Ok I have done both and there has been no changes. As for the 10.9 version i don't have another drive to install it on.

Ok. I'll work with Siawn with the same issue next week. Let's see whether I can find some clues. As a said we used both hd3000 and 4000 and never encountered this.

Oh, can you try running the game without Steam at all, I.e. Launch from its folder and keep Steam closed?

It won't let me. When i open it up that way steam opens itself up as well.

You're launching steam shortcut. Open properties of the steam game in library and find there button which will open local folder of the game. Launch it from there /closing steam beforehand/
