Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Help/Tips/Tricks NPC Frederick - minor spoiler

Hello there.

In the map area Luculla Forest, a bit southeast of the trials entrance, there is an NPC named Frederick not at all far from a somewhat lengthy battle. I can't keep him out of combat, as the main enemy keeps wandering over and attracting him. I've tried reloading and changing battle tactics several times.

Do I need him for anything, or can I just let him die and move on? I'm terrible about wanting to keep important NPCs alive, so if he's crucial for any interesting lore or quests, I'll just go back and try again (and again, and again) to keep him alive.

Yup, two quests are involved with him and I just finished them though, he was dead when I went to go back to him so cannot complete these quests now.

Welp, time to go beat my face against that blasted spider again. Thank you for the response.

He's an annoying NPC. He ended up going red on me, so I had to kill. Can't complete either quest of his now.

At times this game is beyond frustrating.

Is it possible to complete these quests ? Furthermore I cannot find the imp slave. Did you find him ?

I don't know is someone is still interested by it, but i managed to conclude both quests :

I gave the bloodstone to Frederick. I first traded with him and bought three legendaries off him. After I gave him the bloodstone I convinced him to leave his imp alone. After he saw that we absorbed the bloodstone he attacked us and I killed him, getting back all the items I traded him. Thanks Freddy!

Now I guess I need to find his imp slave and tell him he is free!
