So if me and my friend want to play multiplayer he cannot create a customer character and bring it into my game and vice versa? =/ This reminds me of how Dungeon Siege 3 did the multiplayer saves. Which was horrible. Wouldn't it be better if we were able to host a lobby then when we launch the multiplayer for the first time we both get to create our own character? Even having a player joining someone else's game make a custom character at the same level as the game they joined would be better.

Don't suppose there is a mod in the works that can fix this somehow =/.

Start a multiplayer game, sit on char creation screen

Your friend then joins you and bam! He is making a char right there and then.

Thanks didn't know that. hmmm so maybe I'm confused then.. can he load up his character and play it with someone else or by himself then later and same with me.. I overall think it woulda been better had they just made it so when you click multiplayer you make a single character that you then can join other people's games with. Glad to know my buddy can make his own character as long as I wait on the character creation screen though.

You can't load a character created from another game, into a different game.

Scenario 1)

You want to play with your pal Joe. Joe already has a level 10 Knight in game A, where as you have a level 10 Ranger in game B.

You, nor Joe, will be able to load/import your characters to either game, as one is Game A and the other B.

Scenario 2)

You want to play with your pal Joe. You create a new game in multiplayer, and wait at the character creation screen for Joe to join. Both you and Joe create characters together, and continue on in the game. As you progress, you save your game progress.

Should you and Joe wish to play again, whoever has saved that game, in this case you, must load the save file and allow Joe to connect. At that point Joe can continue to play the character he created with you.

Unfortunately, characters can not import into other save games. For Co-Op, you are only allowed currently to use any characters created in a single game instance as no importing features are currently implemented.
