Could you guys give some advise concerning starting classes? As I understood it the two companions are a 2h warrior and a wizard (which schools?). So I would guess a 2nd spellcaster (witch?) and maybe a ranger (with some utility abilities) would compliment those nicely?

I know there is also henchmen later, but companions seem to be more fun, no?

I just find it pretty difficult to decide since I don't really have a clue what to expect.

You can have any companions you want, in form of hirelings. You don't have to plan for default companions at all.

I'd suggest anyone who isn't a hybrid as a good start. A witch and a ranger are a solid pair.
