I entered the cave and engaged Arhu's Sparkmaster without realising that I was missing the remote. (Well, I think I was missing the remote. Couldn't find it in my mess of an inventory.) So I fled the battle with all my characters.
A couple of minutes later, I get updates in my journal saying that I saved the workers from the undead. When I talked to Arhu, he said something to the effect of "So that robot's been reduced to scrap, huh?"
Obviously this is not working as intended, and I ended up missing the entire fight.
I wonder if what happened was that after I left, the battle continued and the NPCs ended up victorious?
