I've been following the Lady In The Lake's voice and have gotten past the gate where I had to fight all the chickens. I'm now in an icy area and have run into this big ice monster that when I put my pointer on it says The Guardian.

He seems to be invincible. So how do I get past him or kill him?

get stronger? he has a crap load of hp. but hes killable.

He's immune to a lot of damage types, but have you tried fire? That worked for me.

In the worst case, he's actually an optional enemy. You don't have to kill him to proceed with the main quest.

He took an incredible amount of killing, since he seemed really resistant to damage, but I out-leveled him by a lot when I first ran into him so it wasn't hard to keep him out of action and pour it on, and he didn't hit terribly hard either. If you can't take him, just come back when you've toughened up.

find the 2 immaculates (the sect members) with the monster nearby (somewhere north of the guardian i think). the female one (you will be talking to her) has something that will make short shrift of the guardian. but you don't get xp i you use it.

Myself, i cheated a bit when i first saw him. Up the first row of stairs behind him, just after the 4 floor buttons (you need to dig one), there is some lava (i think the lava appeared after i digged the button). I teleported the guardian on the lava thanks to Jahan. Instant death, a lot faster!

A fire elemental is really helpful in this fight. Two fire elementals almost turn it easy.

few easy steps

1) run past him up the steps. He doesnt hit hard, he mainly CC's
2) standing on the buttons will cause lava to flow out over the grate.
3) teleport the guardian onto the lava
4) /win
