You're asking how he made the atmosphere trigger?
When he presses that button, he had already starting making the polygon for it, using the white plus sign on the top toolbar.
But the triggers are hidden by default, so you have to right click the Toggle Visibility button to show the actual polygon (though even when it's not visible it is still functioning).
