So I wandered out with my two fresh, level 2 characters onto the Orc shore. (Going out the gate North West of the entrance we enter from after the first Orc battle, which was after the two drunk guards.)

I met the Oogie orc.

I continued West and saw the 4 torches. I wanted to explore more, but was surprised by some nasty things. I loaded, and teleported my ranger past these surprises.

She continued on and found some tracks.

Further West of there, I found the first orc party. I aggro'd them and ran back in range of my mage. He teleported the ranger back.

On came the orcs, through tons of surprises which reduced their healths to about 50%, and also killed one or two.

Now I ran further back but the orcs kept coming. Right into my trap: water. I kept them stunlocked with my mage's Air staff while my ranger shot them full of arrows (since stunned have 100% chance of being hit.)

Remember, these were level 2 characters wiping out a party of 3-4 orc melees, 1 ranged orc and a shaman (all of which were level 6).

Happy with my victory, I saved and continued North of their shipwreck.

I found a boss, and lots of water, so I thought to myself "yolo".

I stacked 2 oil barrels on top of each other in the middle of the water, and aggro'd the boss and his cronies.

They came charging at me. Into the water. I stunned them with my mage. Then I shot a flaming arrow into the barrels. What happened? Everything died instantly. Literally. They turned into ashes right where they were standing.

Great, I thought. I just killed a lvl 8 boss who had the help of two lvl 6 melees, two lvl 6 rangers and a lvl 6 shaman, ALL IN ONE TURN, WITH TWO LEVEL 3 CHARACTERS.

My characters were level 3 at this point as they leveled up after the first orc party fight. They had starting gear.

GG environmental effects. GG

TL; DR: Environmental effects = at lvl 1 you can kill dumb AI no matter what it controls, it would seem.

Possible fix: maybe have smarter AIs (such as that bosses should have), anticipate abuse of environment and have them take proper action with that in mind.

EDIT: OK THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS.

After that quick but epic battle, there was still one orc ranger alive, as he was not in the blast radius. I lured him the water and started shooting him full of arrows while he was stunned.

Then who comes charging at me from behind? FQING PABLO FROM THE DOCKS IN CYSEAL. LOL! I laughed so hard.

His attitude was at -38 since I had triggered a fight with him which I had fled from, and then brought his attitude enough to speak with me (by giving him free junk).

I still can't get over it. What made him suddenly decide to start chasing me? He was all peaceful when I was speaking to Conrad or what that merchant on the boat is called. I then left the docks and started my journey to the orcs.

When the hell did the AI decide that Pablo needs to chase me and fight me?

After I killed the orc ranger, Pablo stopped being hostile towards me and started strolling around the beach.
