I am playing a survivor and have done the Holy Item turn in about 10 times for the dagger. So far the results have been less then impressive.

I am using the following dagger

charm 2
dmg 55-77
spd 10
recuperation time 0
mana drain 5
stun 3

That is the best I have found and so far I have never gotten a Holy dagger that is really close. I get alot of 1-23 damage daggers, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

So could someone that got a good one post the stats, maybe I should just take a brooch instead?

What character level are you? Item stats are somewhat dependent on your level; the higher you are, the more likely you are to get stats in the upper range for that item.

I never tried the dagger, but this is what I got for the sword (level 30 something IIRC, on my second try, then I re-loaded in vain some more looking for both Life and Mana Drain);

Nobleman's Sword

Durability 12
Charm Quality 3
Damage 71-100
2 Strength
4 Agility
6 Constitution
60 Magic
Life Drain(4)
Stun(5)
lightning Damage(5)
Spiritual Damage(4)

Raze,

I am level 37 right now.

Most of the daggers I am getting are 1-23 or 35-55 damage and some stats. Ok stuff but nothing that would make me turn in my other dagger AND not upgrade my amulet for.

The best dagger I got follows

dmg 57-73
2 str
10 const
4 offens
40 magic
stun 2
lifedrain 5

Not bad but when I consider my current dagger has the same damage range and magic drain, which is better for me, I just dont see making the switch. Plus I tried the amulet and eventually got one that was much better than my current one.

I got the dagger I am currentily using from the Elven Bow person, he sold it to me.

Well, your level isn't the problem. From what I have read the Nobleman's Dagger is potentially one of the best consistently in the game, along with the one in the back of Kistandalius's shop in Ars Magicana.
The amulet would be a better choice for you, then; I almost took the amulet instead of the sword.

Their is a good dagger in the back of Ars Magica? Do I have to use invis to get back there to steal it? Any idea of general stats?

I was kinda shocked myself when the first few daggers where only of the 1-23 type. I guess I got VERY LUCKY when the elf had the dagger I am currentily using, I know I almost cried because it was so much better than my last one.

There is/was a poet in front of Kistandalius' shop. If you pay him to recite some poetry, the mage comes out to listen, and you have a very brief distraction to get into the back room and grab a spell book from the table and the dagger from the chest. Any attempt to enter his back room other than this will result in being teleported away, and eventually a drop in reputation.
I was using swords, so never looked at any dagger stats besides trade value.

Thank you for the info, unfortunately I did the poetry reading ALONG time ago. Of well, I am pretty happy with my current dagger. I have decided that Amulet is the way to go. I will post in a few when I get the one I am going to keep.

Well I finally settled on a winner.

I took the amulet and this is what I got

charm 4
constitution 8
defense 5
vitality 100
magic 100
fire resistance 10
ligthning resistance 20
spirit resistance 15
sight 3
hearing 3
restoration 1

This ended up being better than my best dagger because with the amulet I had 2 more charm slots. The resistances where another reason I went with the amulet.

Thanks for your input Raze.
