I've found the game to be quiet punishing, even on normal! Ugh...

I've been playing mostly easy and it strikes a good balance... anyone else feel the same way?

Normal doesn't feel that hard (i'm on co-op).

We're still lvl 3, but, killing lvl 4 groups with nice strategy, and wandering around finding nice stuff!

I've got 30+ hours and at this rate, even on easy, the game could go on for 200. laugh I'm good with that. This is actually my first RPG and I'm savoring the quality of this game.

Why do you need confirmation from others what difficulty they play on?
Do you feel like you are a bad player because you play on Easy and need others to say they play on Easy too?
Why does it matter?

I'M TRULY HARDCORE! I play on Hard only using one character, never spending the points received from level up and only using starting gear, if my character dies I restart!!!!!!!!!! I'M THE BESTEST THERE IS!!!!!!!!

Nope, I had to change to hard, because after some time game became too easy. Though at the beginning it was kinda difficult. First 10-20 hours, I've died multiple times, used at least 10 ressurection scrolls. But the next 20 hours was the walk in the park. Combat system is massive and complicated, so it takes a couple of hours to understand how everything works, learn spell combos, etc. Also some builds are especially weak early. For example poison-depending classes are kinda useless vs skeletons and zombies, bleeding is useless, melee chars also have hard time due to psn-bleeding zombies - but the pyro will annihilate them with fireball with seconds, without any problems. Later when you have multiple schools of magic, that kind of situations is not a big problem, but at the beginning when you have to rely on the 3-5 skills from a single class, you are kinda screwed when enemy is resistant to them.

As long as you're getting enjoyment from the game, whatever the difficulty, that's all that really matters. After all, we play games for entertainment smile

I'm playing on normal but I was also an early access player. I think normal presents a fair challenge and I quite enjoy it.

We should play on what we feel brings us the most joy, the best news is you can play on all three settings, you can change it at any time. What I learned in D:OS beta that there are people that are insulted to use a difficulty named EASY, that was odd and that sentiment carried over into release with people agreeing. So I updated my Great American RPG design log to read: Difficulty setting names: 1, 2 and 3.

I agree completely with playing whatever difficulty brings the most enjoyment. It is a game after all, a single player one at that, and no one is going to fault someone for enjoying the game.

Maybe your difficulty setting designations should become standard across all games...

I'm playing on normal right now and even though I have wiped a few times, it's ok. New strategies emerge and can be used elsewhere smile

I left the game on normal when I started to play, because that is the default option.

I am now playing on hard, because normal is not challenging enough for me.

I might try it on easy just to get a feel on the solo mode before I go coop.

I'm playing on easy and I find it's about the right balance for me. I also played DKS on easy which felt pretty similar; as opposed to Ego Dragonis on any setting which involved me being killed more times than in any other game!

Kinda where I'm at now. Level 7 and still in first area. The last few area's to clear are really giving me a rough time. I have considered switching to Easy, but I'll just try just a few more times...

I've been having an easy enough time with normal, and I'm admittedly not very good at this sort of game. I think a lot of it comes down to your builds and abilities. Having teleport on two of my characters, for example, has drastically changed my approach to battle.

Aye, I play on hard as well. I really want it to be more difficult even then. That isn't to say that I don't die from time to time, it is that I don't have those issues where I am going "well... crap, that didn't work, what about this... damn... Let me try this..." Usually one reload and I am going to win.

It isn't because I am brilliant, or some mastermind. I am an average Joe who just knows too much about game mechanics I guess. I chalk it up to having a brutal DM in my early years playing AD&D.

I play on easy, and am very much enjoying it. It's not like I'm new to these games either, just have found over the years that's what I enjoy. Just glad Larian included multiple difficulty levels.
