Hello everybody.
This is my first post here and I want to thank Larian and the backers of this project for making this wonderful game possible.

To my questions:

1. What are the maximum values for attributes and abilities?
2. Are some abilities like "lucky charm" global for parties? Basically I want to know if the game uses the highest value in the party when opening boxes or defeating opponents, when determining the possible loot. Information on how this works with other stuff like "barter" is also welcome. Basically I want to know if it's a good idea to explore areas with a person selected that has high values in perception and lucky charm, or if it doesn't matter who I use as long as I have someone with those skills in my party.
3. Are there more real "characters" in the game, aside from the two companions you meet early on?
I tried to hire the mercenaries in my homestead but they were nothing but bland cardboard cutouts with nothing to say whatsoever.
Was hoping to find more deep characters later, like the 2 early companions so I might have colorful characters around me like in Baldur's Gate (Minsc, Viconia and Edwynn come to mind).

To the bugs:

First I'd like to know where the best place is to leave bug reports.
Is it here? On the Steam forums?

See, on this site they don't even publish the changelogs and stuff on the front page and there seem to be more Larian employee posts on the Steam forums, so I'm kinda confused on where exactly to post, since the patchnotes only say "If you have trouble with the game, feel free to contact us" which is funny because it doesn't say where.

Thanks to everyone taking the time reading through my posts and especially to those with helpful information.

1. Can't speak for attributes but for abilities it's 5. Apparently you can raise it above this with gear though, but not points.
2. No, it's for that character ONLY. Make sure to use him/her to open chests and such! Same for barter, instigate the conversation with the person having barter, and your whole team benefits (not quite sure that's intended, but that's the current system).
As for Perception, yes, again one person, however if moving in close proximity it doesn't matter that much. However it would affect if you start splitting your party (especially with mines, which need perception to spot. Sending a scout out infront with low perception may lead to trigger them)
3. Can't say, haven't gotten that far myself yet XD
GO FOR THE EYES BOO!

* I'm pretty sure it's here... but they read both. If Steam forums I visit are any indication though, you're less likely to drown in the posts here or get flamed on etc.

Thanks a lot mate.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be a console to check the attribute question out myself smirk

The attribute investment cap is 15. Again, gear can go above this cap but you can't put anymore points into them.

Many, many thanks.

Btw. this game is fucking amazing.
If they weed out most of the bugs out of the game, do some balancing and add a couple of companions, this is gonna better than BG2 ever was.
