Hi,

I've restarted a fair bit and tried numerous party combinations and i fell in love with the Ranger and the Wizard.
I combine them with the Warrior and Wizard from Cyseal.
But i find keeping the Ranger contributing really hard, i.e. -- warrior in the front to intercept melee mobs and soak up damage, Geo/Fire wizard lays waste to the battlefield, Jahan makes it rain, heals and electrifies the air in the aftermath but the ranger is only able to get in a single ricochet in at most, after that targeting anything without getting into melee range is really hard if not impossible -- while the wizards have plenty of aoe spells or can buff Madora prior to her going in and wrecking faces the ranger is building up AP and can do very little with it. Am doing something seriously wrong smile --Tried going 3 wizards and a warrior, but that just felt to cheesy.

What do i need to do to improve?

You need to give your ranger more speed so he gets more APs - more shots per turn. Buy special arrows that basically have functionality of spells - for starters.

You dont need to keep him as a single specific class either.

You do know saving APs for the next turn is possible?
How is then he wasting them?

I start with ranger and wizzard. My ranger is the fastest and best Partymember! I skilled bow and "ranger way" and put Points in perception. 4 shoots! I don't use any spell or Special arrow.

She also make craftig and lore, and lockpick, pikpock.

You can "dip" arrowheads into an Oil barrel, and make Slowdown arrows for your ranger, which are as priceless in combat as they are extremely cheap to make. It's also possible to get Stun and Knockdown arrows cheaply, but not in the same amounts as Slowdowns.

Another good tip is to always send the ranger to the flank, away from the main group. And do sneak-shots from there. Sneak, shoot for double damage (Guerilla), sneak again at the end of the turn, then do a sneak-shot and a normal shot the next turn.

Are you saying your ranger lacks accuracy at distance? Give him perception. Perception will also allow him to spot things.

I'm playing as a rogue with single handed and bow. It's by far my most enjoyable character to play. Backstabs and bow shots with guerrilla and sneaking. I plan to take a level or two of ranger later on.
