or characters from a host PC to a client PC?

I really dislike this mechanic when my character/game is saved only on a host PC. After all it's not MMORPG. What if I need to test some things or whatever and I just can't do it without joining a host.

Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder. The host can zip the saves to send to the person who joined (email, dropbox, flash drive, etc). There is no way to just transfer characters.

Raze is correct.

That said, it would be really nice if the second player had the option to make (but not load during the host's session) his own save file from within the actual game. Obviously the second player has all the data on his client already; s/he just lacks the option of saving it to a saved game file.

Now, I can respect that the host might not want to allow random players joining his or her game to have that option, but I feel that if you're going to allow random people to join your game in the first place, you should have minimal expectations of privacy to begin with.

I think they had intended Steam Cloud to keep saves account based, but obviously that didn't work out

Im think its about size, on steam you have only 100 MB for Cloudsave (per Game?)
My Savefiles are 1,2 GB ^^

Just do a mklink + public dropbox (eg mlink/J "C:\Users\yournamehere\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin" "D:\YOURDROPBOXHERE\Divinity Original Sin\Save"
