The buttons for adding attribute /stat points at level up don't seem to work. I have points to spend, and there is a "plus" next to each stat, but when I click on the plus, it just closes the window without changing anything. Adding skills works fine though.

I have 7 points available for Stats, but can't even add to Intelligence, which is 5, and has a plus next to it.

Did you verify local files (for the Steam version)?

If you start a new game and customize the character, can you remove attribute points there and re-assign them?

Do you have access to another computer you can try the game on? Zip your latest save and email it to me (raze@larian.com), and I can try it here (LMK where you want stats distributed for each character).
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder. In Windows Explorer, right click on the save folder and select 'Send To | Compressed Folder' to zip it.


The attributes should work the same as abilities... There is a difference in response to right clicks, though. The attribute + buttons and the background for that section can be right clicked to close the window, while neither do so in the ability section. I don't know if that might have anything to do with the problem, though.


Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, any crash dumps, and your saved games (all but the latest can be deleted, if file size is an issue).

I found a work around in case someone else has this issue. I borrowed my wife's laptop and installed Divinity: OS. The interface for leveling up stats works fine on the laptop, so I can update the save game on her laptop and then copy it back to my desktop.

My video card doesn't seem to render the level up interface correctly, so that the "plus" buttons don't work. The laptop has an AMD Radeon HD 7660G card, and my desktop has an Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 card.

I finally figured out the problem. I have been using X-Mouse Button Control to swap mouse buttons for a left handed mouse setup (this works fine most of the time). When I shut off X-Mouse Button Control, the level up menu in the game works fine. I saw in another post that an option for swapping mouse buttons within the game is on the to-do list, so I'll wait for that.
