How is there not topics on this?
This is the most annoying fight I've experienced yet. I don't know if I was doing it wrong, but whatever. Not very fun.

After being beaten by him several times, I discovered by accident that you can have 3 of your four characters out of combat.
So what I did was place my ranger in the middle of one of the grates before Boreas. Then I place one of each of the other party members next to an elemental pillar. I started dialogue by having Madora strike her pillar, this started combta but only with my ranger. So I clicked back to Madora (thus freezing combat), destroyed the pillar she was at, and then moved her into combat. After that I switched to each of the other characters and destroyed their respective pillars, and in the end I had all four pillars destroyed before even starting the first combat round.
After this it was all about having 2-3 summons out (I had a constant undead warrior, ice elemental and fire elemental out) to take the insane damage from his adds and to take them down fast. Basically it was a simple by then and I had him down before he got to call his Air Elementals to the fight.
Hope this helps. It is a really difficult fight, but figuring this strategy out and then owning him was really fun. I enjoyed it.

So what do these pillars do, exactly? I know that when I have my characters use them, they grant me an elemental shield for that element. (So you could use the statues and move around to the next element when necessary, which should mitigate most of the damage you'd take from Boreas and his minions)
However, that was not really an option because there's elemental effects all over the place. So I just stood in one place and kept throwing aoe to get rid of the minions. It was a tough fight, but we got through it. Having access to all elemental schools is helpful, especially with the elemental shield spells (or immunity to freezing/poison/burning/electrified) and the witchcraft spell 'Absorb Elements', you can effectively mitigate a lot of damage.
Or just make and use elemental resist potions. The materials are plentiful and they add a decent bit of resist.

Supposedly destroying a pillar removes his immunity to that element, but I wasn't sure if that was true, and since I had him almost down on my previous attempt, I decided to just wear him down. It took forever on easy, and used a lot of pots.
I have only 2 chars that can do physical damage, and one of them was pure melee (madora of course), and just getting her over to him past the environmental stuff was gdam ridiculous.
The length of how long it took to kill him (restarting once due to dead chars not getting xp) is what I don't like about this.

Your magic people can still try to apply status effects to King Boreas. In my fight, he was continuously stunned for the entire fight, I never had to go through the elemental traps he set on the floor.
There are more than one way to skin a chicken and, no brute forcing it is not the most efficient way.
