In most RPGs I avoid to be mage because I don't like how the robes look like in both males and females, instead I prefer armors with trousers for both, or short skirts for women. But magic seems crucial in this game so:

1) Is there intelligence based gear that doesn't look like robes?

2) What is the minimum intelligence needed to practice magic relatively good?

1) No (at least not so far I know). But that's a perfect working field for mods if you ask me...

2) Scales almost linearly. More intelligence = better mage (more damage, more chance for effects)

I created two mods that replace the mage robes models. One mod that turns them into clothes and one mod that turns them into something a bit more revealing. Check my signature for the links. Both mods cover both genders.
