I'm supposed to outrun three Death Knights, but I'm also blocked by bunch of lava. Been spending an hour trying to find a way out, but this game just can't stop challenging me!

Which lava? Where are you? In the mines? Run down the alley where Leandra stood until you find the mirror in the north-west of your position (there is a hole in the wall at the end of the alley with a few crates and a bench before)...

Until the end of the mirror, I can go get Leandra's spell, I won't be able to get the blood until I escape I suppose? Am I on the right track?

You're right. The blood is to be found at another location. Once you have the spell you can leave the mines through the last mirror.
