For some reason, I don't see any of the chest icons on my map from buying the treasure map.

Is there something I'm missing or do I have a tooltip turned off. If so, where the hell is that tooltip?

That is a bug, unfortunately. They should have shown up when you first read the map(s), but can disappear after reloading.

I have seen this as well. Shutting down the game and then reloading brought them back.

I also have this at times, sometimes even the diamond icons (those that represent important locations) disappear. As said by Raze and Jacob Marner above me it can be fixed by reloading.
