Sorry to post this question again, but I do not understand the answer given earlier.

But if this is the case, why are there also resistances against fire, lightning, and poison (but not freeze)?

Can someone give me a list of damage types (and perhaps spells) that Spirit Res. protects against?

A thought:
The Vampire did some kind of damage to me when I fought him, and it did not appear to be physical strikes. What kind of damage was this, and does Spirit Res. protect against it?

Spiritual Resistance protects against things like Life Leech (what the vampire used). Check your skill descriptions, some will say 'needs Spiritual Resistance xx to resist'; basically, it helps protect from non-physical and non-elemental/poison attacks.
