I'm at a bit of a loss here. I've always had trouble dealing with the spider hunters/spiderlings in the Lucculla desert because of their 15+ AP and the fact that I tend to have less than 8 AP (due to the sandstorm) for most characters. Do you guys have any tricks or tips for these annoying creatures, because it seems to me that this part of Luculla was very poorly thought out.

15+?

15+++ (aka 40-50 AP) more like. I had the group with the two humans down to one last spider, it moved half a mile, burrowed half a mile under a large burning area, did the poison AoE (which should take quite a few AP given what it can do) killing one party member and reducing two others to almost zero health and burrowed back to where it started. It would have taken me 4-5 turns to get my party or a summon to where it was.
I saw a spider spit poison down from a higher level onto one of my party members, a move which if I tried it would almost certainly have been deemed impossible by the game as one of those strange out of sight things where one spell gets "can't see" and another can select the enemy with no problem (teleport is particularly bad for this).
