So I restarted my game after the new patch and selected Personality AIs for both characters and they both worked completely fine for the first couple of hours, but now it's as though they've been disabled or reset to no AI. Every time we engage in dialogue, I am selecting both characters' dialogue choices. I was really loving the personalities, by the way. Nice touch.

Is this with all NPCs, or just dialogues between party members?

When you find the third star stone you will have access to something customize your character's appearance again, including the AI personality setting.

It's just between the two player characters. And I've been playing more and have noticed that sometimes the AI seems active and sometimes it doesn't.

Ok I'm not sure but I think the problem has something to do with switching between player characters. Does it take a set period of time for the personality AI to kick in or something after you switch from one character to the other?

There shouldn't be any delay when switching characters. If you are controlling one character and the other has an AI personality set, that should determine the response in dual dialogues.
There is a know issue with some dialogues between party members, and a few reports of the personalities either being reset to none or not working in specific situations.
