So while following the tutorial on twitch I've come across an issue where after I place the ai seed and generate, whenever I reload it'll give me a protected memory error and crash the editor. Everything is completely fine until I generate the grid. Also I do have my paths set correctly. I thought that was the issue until I went piece by piece, placing stuff and reloading, until I discovered that it wouldn't start crashing until after I generated the grid. Any ideas on how to fix this?

well i got also an issue with protected memory, but it appeared random(at least at my editor)
but even with my "memory error" it works except my "wall-problem"(already posted) which forced me to save and restart the editor

Saving and restarting doesn't work. After generating the grid it'll crash on reload and whenever I try to load the map.

I'm having this issue. I've reinstalled both the game and the editor twice. It was working before the recent patch, so I'm guessing that's the issue.

I'm also hitting an issue while trying to switch into the game mode on custom maps. The UI shows up, but the actual terrain and any items are not visible, just a black screen.

The error I get is:

"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an idication that other memory is corrupt."

Same for me... Since the last update AI surface crashes the Editor.

The error.txt file in the Divinity Engine folder show this:

Size of AI grid and generated data doesnt match, please remove the generated.dat in your Editor\Levels\[LevelName]\AI\ folder

Size of AI grid and painted data doesnt match, please remove the painted.dat in your Editor\Levels\[LevelName]\AI\ folder

Size of AI grid and painted surface data doesnt match, please remove the surfaces.dat in your Editor\Levels\[LevelName]\AI\ folder

If I remove this 3 files, I could re-open my level. But when I re-generate AI grid it's impossible to reload the level... It crash again, even if I change the size or the paint of my terrain...

Thanks !

Same over here, and i think a lot of people are touched by it, i guess it's just a matter of time before people hit the bug since the patch was Yesterday.

I think the problem is from the editor, something in the update messed the AI grid in some ways. Since even a "clean" setup meet the same problem.

For now i think the best is to not generate the AI grid for those (like me) who intend to keep mapping even with this bug. This mean "no testing" but this is better than having your work bugged.

Let's report this to Larian asap.

I made several tests, the crash does not depend on:
- The size of the terrain
- Other AI options
- Scripting

The crash comes only after a "FULL GENERATE"

Removing the 3 files specified in my previous post, you can reopen your level.

Currently I develop my scripts and dialogs on a old level achieved before the last patch, and then I copy the scripts and dialogs in my level currently developing ... waiting for a solution to generate a stable AI surface.

Thanks to resolve this.

Same problem here. Any new terrain in which I create an AI grid causes the toolset to crash and then those modules can't be loaded anymore without crashing.

I'm also having this issue. Here's a reproduction of the problem: http://screencast.com/t/NYMx6dbX

Thanks, Ninhydrinal, for commenting on my post in http://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityEngine/! Hopefully Larian will find the cause soon.

Roguelike figured out the solution ; http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=523359&#Post523359

Ai grid is saved in the wrong folder. Just move it and it should work. Just did this and i could get rid of the crash and the black screen when previewing my level.
