how do you think it could be better?

by no means is this a knock to the game, because no matter how good a game is it can always get better

and i dont mean to sound ungrateful or anything of that crap

just call it constructive criticism =P

anyway, here is what i would change.

- make it so there is a greater variety of items that drop, and so that you can find higher quality items easier...i just noticed from reading these forums that most people get their rings from the house north of the abbey and the sick guy that you catch up with in versistes, for example...

to offset this, larian would probably have to make the monsters a bit tougher, but at least for me, item gathering is a big part of the fun in an RPG...

- it seemed to me that most of the boss battles were either too easy, or too hard...for example if the boss had hell's spikes then that automatically means you have to find a cheesier skill to counter that...and also obviously being blinded by josephine in the black ring dungeon was not a fun battle...

- im not sure if this is larians fault or not, but i think the game could use better patch support. mainly because there are still some skills im told are bugged and useless, like crossbow expertise and trueshot...and a bugged skill is a big bug =/

also, from what i hear, the game can be a bit too easy for certain character builds...i think that these balance issues should be addressed in these patches more often.

- this is a minor thing, and i dont mean to whine, but i didnt really like the personalities/looks of any of the characters you can choose from. like the female warrior to me comes off as a man hating lesbian, the male warrior looks like kevin sorbo playing hercules, the male mage looks just kind of...strange...like a blue phaoroh or something. anyway you guys get the point...

although once in the game, i didnt mind the personality of my male warrior anymore...in fact a lot of the responses and stuff i could give after that i thought were great. its just that when i first started playing this game i got a bad impression from the characters i could choose from...

it would probably be a lot of work, but if possible i think it would be cool if there had been some kind of character appearance customization and a few voices to choose from...after all, there arent many different kinds of characters to choose from at the start anyway, i think we should at least be able to APPEAR different

but here are the good points of the game:

- everything i didnt mention

but basically i wrote this with the hopes that larian would consider these things while making DD2. also, please dont change the game too much, i like it the way it is!!! (for the most part, as you can see from reading this topic)

EDIT:

DOH! of course only AFTER i post this do i realize this should be in the suggestions forum. *sigh*

Check out the Riftrunner FAQ and interviews; Larian has already addressed most of your points. I don't know how many voices there will be, besides male/female... you can play as a child, though, so that implies an additional couple voices. If the character does not say much there may be lots of choices; if it does, there would be less. Hopefully Riftrunner's publisher will be more supportive when it comes to developing patches, not to mention promotion.

This isn't horse shoes or hand grenades, but at least you were close with the forum.

I look at Divine Divinity as a prototype. All the mistakes and bugs will be ironed out in RiftRunner, making it an amazing game!
