A in the title: is there any ruler in DE? A I'd like to measure distances between objects on map it would be very helpful.

Well, you can get the coordinates of any object by clicking on them then you could do the math. You can also manually enter in the coordinates to ensure that they have a particular distance between each other. There is a kind of grid for the terrain because you can snap objects to it, but I don't know if there is a visual overlay for it.

Well, that's not what I am thinking about. I want to make a map based on true territroy, and to make it really nice I have to take proportions. Wanted to change, for example, square meters to map squares, and to do it a ruler would be really helpful. Even if measuring by coords could be possible, it would by highly pesky. So any idea how can I get a rurel of any kind in DE?

Ah, I see. I don't see a feature like that in the toolset. If you have a large area that you want to re-create in the editor, and you have a picture of it, the most efficient thing to do may be to import a height map. Chriskang was kind enough to provide a height map importer, so if you can create a gray scale image of your true territory, you could generate the area pretty quickly with all the proportions you wanted.
