Hi,
I'm new to Divinity, and am really enjoying it so far. However, I have come across a glitch that may or may not be harming my investigation (don't tell me either way please)!

I can pick up the key to Th...'s private room, and go in just fine. I found the hidden key to the chest, but when I go to pick it up, it does not appear in my inventory, so I am unable to open the chest.

Also I see another key with the tab that I can't get in my inventory

Are these glitches known?

You checked the key section of your inventory? Are you sure you tried clicking on the chest with the character that picked up the key?

Do you have a save before picking up the key, that you can reload and try the key again?

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, any crash dumps, and your saved games (to reduce file size, you can delete all but your current save, and one from before picking up the key).

Hi,
I've tried multiple times, firstly with a single character in the room, then with multiple people. I also tried with one of the support characters when they had a near-empty inventory.

I'm pretty sure it's the same for different games, so I'll make a new profile and send the save games to support. Thanks smile

As Raze says, did you check the "keys" section of your inventory? Keys does not show by default in the standard inventory screen.

Also you need to check it on the inventory of the character that actually picked up the key. Only he/she has it.

I'm at work right now, but if keys are tucked away in their own part of the inventory, and don't show up by default then that could explain it thanks smile.

OK, so my character ( the only one in the room) has the key, but can't open the chest... I thought this was supposed to be automatic?

I also had the same problem with the basement chest in the king crab (with poison nearby). I pick up the key nearby, and can't open it

It is suppose to be automatic. If a character picks up the key from under the chest, they should be able to left click on the chest to open it.

So the key under the chest is the key, and not the one under the wardrobe which says something like secret chest key? (Sorry, I'm at work). That could explain a lot smile!

Perhaps the secret key is for something else I've not spotted yet!

Right. The 'key' is for the Ornate Chest, 'Thelyron's Secret Chest Key' is for a different chest.
