We can't seem to figure out what they do.. Anyone?

You can buy the maps and use them. After that little chest icons appear on your map. There's a pile of dirt at these locations where you can find 'treasure'.

This 'treasure' is usually rather crappy random loot. Furthermore, you can also find these mounds without having bought treasure maps, if you have a decent perception.
Treasure maps are expensive and a complete waste of money if you ask me.

Not all of the Teller of Secret's secrets are maps however. Also some clues for bloodstones and such. But in the end, if you pay attention, you don't need them to find those either.

I hade the chest on maps disappear afterwards, luckily i had signed numbers too them to keep track on wich i had completed and not. But that was in silverglen area, and I Think it was the ones you get from dialoges not mapd.
