1. Does Geoff keep junks that I sold him? It seems that the lists of items in his inventory is getting bigger. I don't think that he sell new weapons anymore...

2. I found out that Geoff (100 admire) still don't pay as much comparer to Mend(healer who gone crazy). I don't think that repair items and selling it back gives as much money. Am I right? I think that you only get money if you have lvl 5 repair. I don't have repair skill myself so I am losing money by asking Geoff to repair.

3. I read that you need to quick save and reload to get spellbook... does this mean that merchant will not change its inventory each day? I am thinking of buying spellbook...

4. Which merchant is great for selling bow?

Anyways, thanks for replying my questions.

Takes more than 1 day to find new goods in the shops. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

I preferred to let repair, because I had a lot of money and skill pts were too precious for me - but if you find items with repair skill: keep them if you wish to get more money from fully repaired goods. Yes, the price is supposed to be higher if you repair them yourself and then sell.

If you haven't visited the merchant, save/load and look into his goods. My own personal view: the better his attitude was towards me, the more spellbooks I got.

Gavanariel/archer in the Dark Forest/Elven village = sells bows.

Yes during some times he keeps what you have sold.
So if you change your mind, you can buy again what you have sold.
But later these old things disapear, and there is new stuff to buy.
It's the same for other merchants.

2. I found out that Geoff (100 admire) still don't pay as much comparer to Mend(healer who gone crazy). I don't think that repair items and selling it back gives as much money. Am I right? If you repair items before to sell them you get more money.
Repair skill is important so you spare money and you can repair yourself your best weapon when it is out.
But you don't need level 5 and you can also wear an item with the repair skill.
So you can spare your skill points.

Merchants change their inventoty some time after you have visit them. I don't know how long.

There is a good merchant for bows in the elven village in the dark forest.

Anyways, thanks for replying my questions.

Have fun

If you quick save before running your mouse over a merchant or hitting the alt key nearby, you can trade with him/her, then quick load to get a different inventory. After you have talked to an NPC, it takes around 15 minutes real time before their inventory will be reset, though this seems to vary a bit between NPCs.

Kistandalius or (sometimes) Blake in Ars Magicana and Corinna or (sometimes) Mpenzak in Verdistis are good when looking for spell books, though just about any NPC has a chance to have one.

Welcome Ryalor!

1 & 3: Merchants replenish their stock once in a while. It is based on real-time, not game time, so you can't just sleep lots to change their stock. They tend to keep unique and quest items so that you can't lose them in this fashion.

2: If you have a merchant repair all your goods before you sell them, you'll lose profits. Just repair your own equipment and sell your loot in what ever condition it's in. If you have the Repair skill, on the other hand, repair your loot before selling it for additional profit.

Who are you talking about. I keep reading things about buying as many spellbooks as possible, but when I trade with a merchant, I never see any spellbooks. What merchant do I need to go to, to find them. Is there anything I have to do to get them, like save/load? Thanks!

Even then, the chances of getting a spell book are low, so you either have to keep an eye out when selling loot, or save and re-load a few times.

Demon, as Raze said: Ars Magicana (mage and Blake mainly) - I had luck sometimes with Kistandalius having 3 spellbooks at once. Just now I could buy "Hellspikes" from Corinna. But it needs patience, teleporting a lot around to look if they had new stuff. Even Moll/merchant next to Markus had one - and I was lucky with one of the guards, too.

When I saved Maria (what happens if you kill her by the way?) and you go to her and tell her that she is now welcome back in verdistis merchants guild she has spellbooks. I got last level of freeze off her hellspikes and lightning..

In version 1.0034 you can kill Maria and get the membership for the merchant guild from Malcolm - but you can't buy a house. Maria was the one to vouch for you.
I did it for testing sakes.
