Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Growing sick and tired of this... any suggestions?

I keep dropping out of the game to my desktop, most of the time without a warning, it just drops me.
Then I have this problem with my sound, every once in a while it makes this loud ''KGRRRT'' noise (don't have any other way to describe it), it's very VERY annoying.
I reinstalled it, patched it, everything, but nothing, tried different video modes, nada...

Can't be my comp, couse it play every other game perfectly, just as usual divinity is trying to do me up the butthole.

It's a great game, but it's the same stuff over and over and over again, I would love to play the game for hours straight without a problem, but no.
It crashes at least every 20 minutes and that sound like once every minute.

In order to help you we need a few data of your computer:
please post your computer stats.

general suggestions: If you use DirectX9 don´t use it instead install DirectX8.
There have been problems with DirectX9.
Turn your colour resolution to 16 Bit, much better than 32 bit.
Turn of programs running simultaniously to Divinity! (for Example: Virus scans...)

Check your computer (CPU) temperature. (I had this problem) It could be too high. Too high is more than 70 degrees celsius. Don´t ask me for the number in Fahrenheit...

Thanks a load, couse I finally got a new comp so I can play DD to the fullest and then this happened.
Well, I installed DirectX9, so that's probably the problem.

Everything is in order with my computer, yet divinity is doing this type of crap.

Could you please tell us what sound and video card you have? Have you installed the latest drivers? And what is your RAM could you tell us please? oh and what ver. of windows do you use?
