I have never played any of Star Wars games like Jedi Outcast etc.
But, lately after I have acquired Jedi Academy I have to assume, it is great.

The genre is action or TPS (third person shooter) with slight but still nice RPG elements.

Combat is focused on use of light-saber (there are different types to choose from), though there are many other weapons like rocket launchers, grenades, laser/plasma rifles etc.
But, the most interesting part is that using light saber there are different styles unique for every light saber type.
There are lots of dark jedi in the game, this means that there are lots of interesting melee battles.

The game is divided into missions. In one mission you can drive sand-hover-bike, which is very cool. In another mission you can drive mech.

There is multiplayer also, where it is possible to engage into PvP battles. I will try this out after I complete the game.

So, is there any more peeps playing this game? Share your thoughts and we could even go into mp together one day.

I was indeed shortly before answering, but my connection was cut (once again).

I know the game, and I'm eager to buy it, but 45 Euro is a bit expensive for me now.

Also, I don't know whether it will run on my Athlon with 800 Mhz - or better : how it will look.

reviews say that the game is great for multiplayer but singleplayer-wise, it' not as good as outcast. in fact it feels detached & doesn't really flow. what's cool is that u start with lightsaber & not some lame blaster which u will use till half of the game(outcast). a whole lot more moves & there's dual light saber wielding ability as well as the usual darth maul's dual saber.

the way u play will determine the alignment; if u use force lightning often, u'll end up on the dark side while frequent use of force heal will make u a goodie. your jedi teacher will tell u to attempt a balance between the two.

have fun for those who will get it.

My impression on single player game is that it has one mayor problem, it's so short.

Yesterday started to play mp - hmm interesting. Tried ordinary free-for all deathmatch.
There are different types of mp game like dm, teamplay, duel, some super-duel etc I didn't tried them yet though.

Janggut, I think I missed the part with allingment. Yes, there are some dark side powers, but I haven't noticed what happends when you actively use them.

Alrik graphics are ok, but I expected something better. Character graphics and animations are good.

Btw, you can turn on matrix slow motion for evade and death animation.

You can freely customize video options to make it run smoothly on your 800 hz Athlon, I hope.

If you really want, you could run this game on the minimum possible requirements, but I really wouldn't suggest it. Even at the lowest possible settings, I found the game hardly enjoyable on my old P3 600Mhz with 256MB RAM and a TNT2. Then again, I am expecting more than 30fps with at least somewhat decent visuals; someone with a computer like the one listed above is probably a little more forgiving. Despite that, I think a GeForce 1 and an 800MHz CPU would be a better minimum system. ---Ugo.com

I would say I haven't got problems, had everything on max, but I have very powerful machine.

Bleh, much as I hate to admit it I didnt buy this game, just hired it. Anyway, Im glad I did, as I found it very short also. (I solved it in 5 or 6 hours). It just strengthens my opinion that RPG's are the only games worth buying any more (Oh, and turn based strat). Lets see what Black Isle do with Knights of the Old Republic.

I'm currently playing the Demo (thanks to a friend who downloaded it for me ) and I'm quite surprised how smoothly it runs, even on my Athlon 800 with Geforce 2 GTS and about 300 MB RAM or so (can't keep it in my memory ) .

I'm quite impressed of the game so far.

By the way, the sys reqs for KOTOR seem to me a bit hefty, so to say. I have read them in the official KOTOR forum, just taking a glimpse at it.
