I dont understand why ppl make a very simple topic complicated by giving too detailed answers trying to prove that he is better than the one who answered before him or sometimes ppl jus say something to have something said.
Like some1 asks: where do i get blahhb..... some1 answer: you go 2 levels down and enter secret passsage blahblah... next guy : when u go two levels down turn left and then turn right pull the lever and this will activate blahh blahh... some1 else : yes as he said another guy : exactly i agree and good luck some1 else else : here are some maps to guide you another guy again : yeah i also have some maps here you go some1 : heyy welcome to the forum
This is f**cking anoying and u also confuse the one who asked the question. I know this wont change anything I saw this happening in every single forum gahhh

Sometimes aparently...
But overhere we're used to it. On other forums you get less help and more namecalling and offtopic chat. Here useally ppl go on about something becouse they're one big group. There's almost no random offtopic chat in the help section. Ppl just go on about It was worse in the old days.

Yes, sometimes people do say things like "yes, what he said" just to say something, like LewsTherin... But even he has calmed down a bit now that he's got such a high post count (despite having registered only two days before me, I might add). Anyway, you made a humorous observation, but I don't find it too annoying, except when someone gives the wrong answer to a question. I also think it's very friendly to be welcomed to a forum instead of being made fun of for not knowing everything about the game.

well ur right ppl are really welcomed in this forum but still few ppl do it you should see the Gothic 2 forum some1 asks for 1 simple thing sometimes no1 answers sometimes 20 ppl answer to the same question and if their answers are different they try to prove themselves right
any and the forum rocks and it is quite active and live

The first few to answer on a post say welcome. You can't go on saying welcome... than you would have no room left for answers.

Well, I believe it has to do with someone's style, too.
For my own part, I rarely write too exact hints. I rather write "real" hints where the one who had asked still has something to do - thus not spoiling too much.
I think - I'd rather like hints and later have the "aha!-effect" than going "by the book" because someome provided me with exact descriptions.

Same here.
I like to find out about things by myself/for myself.
And with answering questions I just don't wanna spoil to much. That 'aha-effect' followed by a 'hey, I did it' feeling is to much fun.

yep , i agree also with @Seth and @Alrik But i don't see anything wrong with a dubble answer. also, the help forum is very quick to answer a question, in minutes somethimes... soo when a few people read the question, they start to type in a answer. Everybody does this in his/her style. the first one with the basic hints the other with every detail he/she can find.(wich i don't see as "i'm prooving that i'm better", attitude)
it happens more then onces the answers cross eachother. they are "send" on in the some time without the writers knowing an answer was already posted.

I agree with The Bean When i see a question, i need a lot of time - to understand the question, - to find a good link which could help, - to type the answer. And during this time, at least 3 persons have already sent an answer. So i look very stupid, but i am not, i am just slow to answer.

Sorry, I won't do that again.
EDIT: That is, I won't post "I agree with ..." I'm happy to agree with DAD on occasion.

I registed 2 days before you? hmm, I guess that shows post counts for ya'. me him 3000 80 day0 day2 weird. 2920 posts different, in 2 days oh yeah, I think its weird, but I don't care since we welcome people and help them so; its not all dumb things, cept a few times

@HandEFood But don't you think that confirmation is occasionally useful too? What if L. was fast to tell a new poster that the phantom pile of gold is in the abbey? Then we should expect many “I do not agree with L” In this sense, “I agree with ....” is also useful for confirmation that there was no mistake. I remember that in a few occasions I literally left out the word “not” from a sentence I was typing. I would be very happy to find someone who disagrees with me pointing out that I claim the opposite of truth to be true. I think that if disagreement was acceptable, then agreement should also be acceptable even if its merit is of a lesser magnitude.
Thanks.

Absolutely. Positive and negative feedback is necessary. I think the most infuriating thing is the "I (do/don't) agree with them." It doesn't add anything to the conversation. I often post another answer to an already answered question if I feel that their answer was unclear. I think over-confirmation is fine so long as they provide their own opinions and don't just sheep along with the others.

However, you should not deny that your posts are 90% (crap + silly + ridiculous + nonsense).
But we do love you Lews, so keep spamming us occasionally and hopefully with a bit of mercy.

I'll think about it; the mercy part but yes, I feel this forum wouldn't be the same without me, it would be ALOT better off
