As the title says I've figured out how to add new skin and hair color options to the character creator. Here's an example using some over the top test colors I made:

Good news there doesn't seem to be a limit to how many new colors you can add, and they don't need to overwrite existing ones. So while I'm finishing my new armor dye release I'll be taking requests for new skin and hair color options.

So far I plan to add:

Hair:

- A true shade of black hair (Jet Black is still rather brown).
- A couple more over the top colors for the anime fantasy fans.

Skin:

- 2 shades of blue for dark elf fans
- Pitch black and diabolic red for unnaturally evil look options
- Green for silly people that just want to go Hulk

I may also be able to expand the portaits to add in some of the generic NPC faces, maybe add some blank slots for custom portraits. As for new haircut and face slots... still looking into that, can't make any promises.

Can you fix the new shades (and maybe the existing ones, he demanded petulantly) so they don't get overridden by armor, and no longer match the head?

Wonderful! Can we get a tutorial?

I didn't think it was possible to change the textures yet. So I'd love to know how you did this smile

The skin colors aren't texture, just a palette effect (that happens to use a crazy hexidecimal to normal numbers setup)

If your talking about the custom clothes in the picture, that's my sexy armor mod. Check the links in my sig.

BIG EDIT::

I've figured out how to make an extended set of portraits, which I will be working into this mod. Features:

- Adds 64 empty portrait slots to both genders.
- Uses its own portrait file for less conflict with the default game.
- Saved in .png format, a far easier to use format even clunky old MS Paint can load. Adding your custom portraits will be easy as pie. (Doesn't hurt that .png only take a fraction of the fileseize of .dds format).
- As a bonus all the generic NPC portraits are made selectable too.
- None of that "File is corrupted, no multiplayer 4 you." crap. Though would require both players to have the mod installed to work right of course :P

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome news! I've been waiting to do this since the game released. I have a folder full of portraits that I'd love to add to the game smile

I also love the idea of being able to use the NPC portraits. This is really wonderful news MrEsturk, I can't wait to try it.

Any idea of when it will be ready? I know, I know, patience is a virtue, but I'm guessing I'll need to start a new game to make use of the new portraits and I'm chomping at the bit to try it smile

Hey!

This is a very simple request, but could you consider making face #1 have dark brown eyes, and black eyebrows? Not earth shaking, but I'd really appreciate it! smile

Maybe this wouldn't need to be a part of this mod, but rather change to the base textures in a separate mod?

Anyway, thanks for you time! smile
