Hello.

I bought this game tomorrow after seeing some friends enjoying playing this game.

So I bought it on steam yesterday, meanwhile download I checked the ingame jobs and stuff like that.

When the download was complete I started the game, the first time It loaded, so I could create my character and stuff like that.

Then it when downhill, the game started crashing HEAVILY (my windows wouldn't respond at all) so the only way was a force restart.

I tried again, same shit, big crash with white line on my screen.

I tried everything, putting my audio/video driver up to date, uninstalling RAPTR, testing my spec with the DOS APP (http://puu.sh/axsVr/72b27522fc.png as you can see everything is green..), I even mailed the support 3 times without any answer back...

I actually retried today after switching my game language on english and it's WORSE (it doesn't load the game, just crash straight like no fuck given). I also tried deleting my D:OS documents.

Can someone help me?

Same happened to me ! After buying it from steam, it loaded very slowly and after the first steps crahed. Tried to lower the graphics, same thing! Also no response from support!!! Tried to install the debug program, even that crashed....
Much Money thrown out of the window!
If nothing happens soon, I will write renarks in every portal I can get hold of! Its a scam!!!!!

I retried like 5 min ago, the game doesn't even try to load something, straight crash...

I also used the steam checker to check if the install is not corrupted and everything is fine. Maybe I have to pray rngjesus to play this game?

I receive this thing one the ACELOG on the event viewer (the hour is the same when the game crashed).

Have you tried disabling your antivirus programme and/or firewall? Some people reported problems at the game start when their antivirus was active.

Sorry you have not gotten a response from support. Currently most of Larian is off on vacation (which were delayed when the game's release date was moved back, and again until after the patch) and will be back on Monday, so someone will be able to take a detailed look at your report then.


Could you please describe the white line when the game crashed?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs before starting the game? As Elwyn said, anti-virus and firewall programs are common sources of conflicts and can cause crashing.

Did you try running the game as administrator? (right click on the '..\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping\EoCApp.exe' program file to do so).

A couple people were able to fix startup crashes by replacing their My Documents D:OS folder, though that will only help if the problem is in creating those files and folders (Crash on startup [Solved]).

Did you verify local files for the game after switching languages?
